So we have been doing stuff this summer, I've just slacked off on posting, my bad!!! But i thought i would just put some pictures up of what we've been doing, to feel you guys in :) we went to a dance, and we all put on Hannah's tie-die T-shirts, and rode around town in these awesome shirts and our funky shades, and went and got some fry's, onion rings and snow cones, went to the park and sat on the grass! Good Times!!! Anyway, Enjoy!!! :D We had so much fun getting ready for the dance... makeup, hair, it was the bomb! And it was a blast to dance around all night! (haha) We tried to burn up Hannah-- Muhahahaha Our friend Ed!

EXPLOSION!!!

Our last experiment of the day was with a cup of (white) Vinegar, and 2 teaspoons of baking soda! you would have never thought two regular house supplies would have such a reaction to each other!! Liss made a beautiful foil trough that was small enough to fit through the mouth of the bottle, once we had the vinegar in the bottle we slid the trough into the bottle quickly putting the cork on (as you can see)! the reason we did this experiment... so exercise Newtons third law- For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. we had so much fun with it the first time, we did it again! Hannah almost got Alyisa's hand blown off though!! haha, way to go!! :( it was to long to put on, but just imagine!! ;) Hope you like it!!

Board slide/ Friction

The first time we lifted the board and took our measurements the board was unfinished, in other words- not sanded. These were our results the first time, the rock went at 10 inch, the wood went at 12 inch, the eraser went at 19 inch, and the ice cube went at 23 inch. (we guessed the eraser would have been last but we think the ice cube melted to the wood... we call this experimental error!) After we sanded the board we did the experiment again, and these were our measurements- the rock, piece of wood, and the ice cube went at 12 inch, and the eraser went at 15 inch.
We decided the Marbles velocity so we predicted the direction the marble would go... we guessed correctly!

This is Newtons 2nd law! When an object is acted on by one or more outside forces that totally force is equal to the mass of the object times the resulting acceleration! In other words... total force = (mass)x(acceleration)
1- the paper fell slowly, the book fell fast! 2- the book and paper fell equally fast! Because we put the paper on top of the book, the book has a bigger mass so it does not get slowed down by the influence of Gravity!
We taped a cardboard runway to a stack of books with a cookie sheet at the bottom (just in case we made a mess) then we also put paper towels to soak up any egg juice! :) Stage 1- First we rolled to eggs down together on one slide, neither one broke! Stage 2- Then we put one egg at the bottom and rolled another egg from the top of the slide, the one at the bottom cracked! Stage 3- Last we made another slide opposite of the first and rolled one egg from each slide... both cracked!

Friday the 13th

We looked up stuff about weather, and then made these lists of things we were supposed to find about the weather! once we recorded our data we looked for weather patterns!

Saturday

A couple weekends ago we got together and hung out all day... we watched movies, played games, ate food (like these really yummy home made frys), had fun with all of Hannah's hats, Hannah didnt want her picture taken so we got her dad to inter fear.. it didnt help much- played in the snow and made this like bridge like cave thing we forgot to take a picture of, and we soaked Hannah's head with snow, and then we did Aliysa's Hair!!!! We just love spending time together :)

Experiment

This was a experiment we did about Magnets and Energy! We connected the nail to the battery to make it a magnet, it held 9 paperclips!
